In which generation do you belong?
Generation Jones: 1955 - 1964
Do you work? If so, what do you do?
Yes! I'm a Life & Leadership/Executive Coach. I work with ambitious, "outwardly successful" women who have an inner knowing there's more to life than the way they're currently living.
What would the 25-year-old version of you think of you today? How are you most different from her?
At 25, I was focused on achieving what I thought I should. From undergraduate degree to MBA, to the corporate arena. Positioning myself for new roles. Failing wasn't an option.
Today, I am living my life by design, incorporating my core values, being at the cause of my life, and not at the effect of my life, and mastering it each day.
What has not changed about you?
The golden thread for me is my focus on building strong relationships, collaborating with people across the globe, and coaching and mentoring.
Good or bad, what about midlife has surprised you so far?
Reinventing myself and transforming how I think, feel, and act. That I am in full control of regaining clarity on what I want to do with my one precious life and bringing that vision to life.
What one habit are you actively working on these days?
Honoring my physical and emotional health first through activity before I give of myself to others. This is something that — as a giver — I ignored for the better part of my adult life in that my first focus was on giving to others at home and in my work roles.
What brings you the most joy these days and why?
My ability to shift my own thoughts, feelings, and energy to more empowering thoughts and feelings so that I can then consciously choose my direction in creating the life that I want to live.
What are you most excited about these days?
Serving my clients to create a vision for how they want their life to look, even if right now, it feels like an impossible dream. Unpacking what’s standing in their way. Putting strategies in place to create a life and career for themselves where they feel valued and have a sense of satisfaction and purpose (and without burning out in the process). And ensuring I am doing the same for myself!
If you could give a 20-year-old some words of wisdom, what might it be?
Focus on the values that are most important to you. Those core values that you will have underlie all that you do as you move forward in your life. Keep laser-focused on not compromising those values as you make significant decisions in your life.
And the most important question: Who was your favorite singer/band growing up?
Blondie! Her albums were always on replay for me.
