Obliger with rebel tendencies! Sometimes I think it's actually obliger rebellion, which Gretchen says is when obliger say yes too much, and ignore themselves too much and so they just quit. But a little rebel is good for you! 😁
Lou, I love how you connected each style with a philosopher. I always thought I was an obliger in this system, but I'm not super wired for connection. I might be a mix of obliger and rebel because I don't like being told what to do. Sounds contradictory, but maybe not. Thanks for explaining it so clearly.
Ooh, an Obliger-Rebel hybrid — deliciously contradictory! “I’ll do it for you, but don’t tell me to” is a real motivational mood. It's like Confucius inviting Diogenes to tea 😉
Hah! Since you mentioned your age, now I’m curious: do you think your tendencies have shifted over time? Were you wired differently when you were younger? (I’ve always been a Questioner. Drove my mom and teachers absolutely mad. “Because I said so” never stood a chance.) 😂
This is fascinating. I can ID my family using your archetypes. Teenage son is rebel all the way, help us all. Thanks for the shout out, Lou! Stay calm and speak on.
Rebel teenagers are truly a character-building experience. I admire your courage. Also, I fully expect your family to be a Netflix series someday. 😉 Love your work Jessica!
That’s a familiar tension — wanting the tidy calendar life but constantly questioning the point of the calendar. My tension leans toward rebellion! Yours sounds healthier! 😂
At times, I have been all of them … 😜
Shapeshifter! The true final form. Most of us probably rotate through the tendencies like wardrobe changes — context, mood, planetary alignment. 😄

Obliger Rebellion! I suddenly imagined you as Katniss Everdeen in Mockingjay! 🏹

Lou, I love your clever mind > Confucius inviting Diogenes to tea.
🤗
At 72.5 years old I’m a Questioner-Rebel hybrid… heavy on the Rebel.

I think I was more duty-bound as a young woman… but I think the core me was always a questioning rebel.

Love, love, loved this, Lou! So, hmmm. I think I'm a wanna be Upholder and an actual Questioner.

Yeah, but rebellion is way more exciting!
I'm more something of a Kantian!
